<p><a href="http://maricopa.gov/parks/estrella/">Estrella Mountain Regional Park </a> comprises almost 20,000 acres, most of which is still pristine desert.  The developed area of the Park contains 8 major mixed use trails (hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding) of more than 33 miles, a 9.5 mile competitive track, campgrounds, two baseball fields and a large horse staging area.  The Park also boasts the county&#8217;s only grassy picnic area, a golf course, and a professional level rodeo arena.  The address is 14805 W. <h3>White Tank Mountain Regional Park</h3>
<p>At 30,000 acres the <a href="http://maricopa.gov/parks/white_tank/">White Tank Mountain Regional Park</a> is the largest in the County system.  The Park features extensive campgrounds, eleven major trails and a ten mile competitive track.  The barrier-free Waterfall Trail, though only one mile in length, is the most visited trail in the system, featuring trail-side petroglyphs, varied desert scenery and plants, and a seasonal waterfall.  The Park is located at 13025 N. White Tank Mountain Road in Wadell, which is about 10 miles northwest of Goodyear.  The park is open 365 days a year.  Telephone: 623-935-2505.</p>
<h3>Sierra Estrella Wilderness</h3>
<p>Bordered entirely on the north and east by the Gila Indian Reservation, Sierra Estrella Wilderness contains knife-edged ridge-lines, steep slopes, and rocky canyons, one of the most rugged mountainous areas of <a href="http://showappeal.com/best-arizona-neighborhoods-for-hockey-football-fans/">Arizona</a>.  From September to March, you can enjoy any one or more of the following activities:  biking, boating, camping, caving, climbing, hiking/backpacking, water sports, picnicking, wildlife viewing, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and more!   There are services and facilities that include campgrounds with showers, restrooms, and drinking water, a marina, rental cabins, cultural-historic sites and exhibits.</p>

<p>There are numerous golf courses surrounding this area including Tuscany Falls at Pebble Creek, Palms Course, Fairways Golf Center and Eagles Nest at Pebble Creek.</p>
<h3>Wildlife World Zoo</h3>
<p>Located immediately north of Goodyear in <a href="http://www.azsearchforhomes.com/litchfield-park">Litchfield Park,</a> the <a href="http://www.wildlifeworld.com/">Wildlife World Zoo</a> has Arizona&#8217;s largest collection of exotic animals with over 2,400 individual animals representing more than 400 exotic and endangered species.  The state&#8217;s first Aquarium has now opened at the Zoo &#8211; 16501 W. <h3>West Valley Arts Council</h3>
<p>The West Valley Arts Council (WVAC) invites audiences of all art forms to include dance, music, and theatre.  In addition to public performances, WVAC is gaining recognition across the state and nation as a significant force in arts education.  The Council provides arts education and initiatives that directly serve more than 40,000 children annually.  Following are just a few of the programs WVAC provides:<br />

<p>The City of Goodyear sponsors seasonal events throughout the year to include the Family Concert Series where families can come together to enjoy some of the best bands in the southwest!  Families can bring lawn chairs and blankets as well as food and beverages and listen to a wide variety of musical performances for the whole family.   There are also on-site vendors available.  The concerts are FREE!</p>
<h3>Skate Park</h3>
<p>Come on down to the Goodyear Skate Park &#8211; located in the Goodyear Community Park at  3151 N. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear &#8211; for exciting demonstrations by skateboarding experts.  Check out the latest equipment at vendor booths &amp; presentations.  Skate Fest takes place in the Spring here and includes raffle prizes, food and merchandise vendors, and music provided by a live DJ.</p>
<h3>City Market</h3>
<p>City Market takes place at the Goodyear Ballpark, 1933 S. <h3>Phoenix Homes</h3>
<p><a href="http://showappeal.com/downtown-phoenix-development-now-on-the-market/">Phoenix is the 5th largest city</a> in the country by population and offers homes for every buyer &#8211; there are large, nice homes that are secluded in rural areas with horse corrals, as well as spacious, lovely homes in the city near all of the excitement.  With such a <a href="http://showappeal.com/residential-housing-vacancies-in-the-phoenix-metro/">surplus of inventory</a>, prices are sure to <a href="http://www.azsearchforhomes.com/housing-prices-continue-to-fall/3153">remain very low</a> here for some time.  Consequently, with high inventory, such low rates and low prices, the housing you can get here right now for your dollar is amazing!</p>
<p>I see homes that in a typical market would be valued upwards of $400,000.00 being sold for $250,000.00 or less!!  <a href="http://showappeal.com/where-is-the-phoenix-housing-market-headed/">home values plunged</a> here in Arizona when the housing bubble burst. However, imagine what home values will be in 5-10 years for those who buy here now and still own the home when the housing market inevitably turns around.  For those smart investors, their home values will surely soar!</p>
<h3>The Valley of the Sun</h3>
<p>Unlike what some people visualize, the Valley of the Sun is a beautiful place &#8211; it&#8217;s not all brown and desert, it&#8217;s full of palm trees and southwestern beauty.  Homes are often surrounded by southwestern landscape with palm trees, colored rock, different type of cactus, and various flowers, plants and other trees that thrive here.</p>
<h3>Things To Do in Phoenix</h3>
<p>There&#8217;s so much to do here too &#8211; you can live in the city or go a few miles outside the city and hike and enjoy nature.  Vegas is literally less than six hours away.  But you won&#8217;t want to leave right away.  Phoenix and surrounding areas offer over 200 golf courses, several well-known stadiums, tons of shopping, restaurants, culture, entertainment, and much, much more.  In fact, there are several casinos on Native American land right here.</p>
<p>Believe it or not, we&#8217;re only about 170 miles from the beaches of Mexico here in Phoenix!  There are also many scenic lakes within 40 miles of our great city.  You can even go skiing only a few miles away in Flagstaff.  There isn&#8217;t much you won&#8217;t find here.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s one of the things I love about Phoenix.  There are so many surrounding cities that are part of the valley and have their own amenities to offer.  I live in the southwest valley where Luke AFB is located, and we have tons of our own restaurants and shopping areas close by and are also within driving distance of everything around Phoenix.  There is a wide variety of <a href="http://showappeal.com/the-nations-cheapest-housing-markets/">housing in our area</a> just like in Phoenix and other surrounding cities.  We&#8217;re very close to the Glendale Stadium here and there&#8217;s a shooting range right up the road in Peoria.  Top that off with the fact that most of the year is perfect weather to take out the Harley and you can see why we&#8217;re never bored!</p>
<h3>Buying a Phoenix Home</h3>
<p>Two things to consider if you&#8217;re buying a home in the Phoenix area:  have a pool and tint your windows!  I insisted we at least have a play pool when we bought our home here and I have never regretted that decision.  It&#8217;s so relaxing and so much fun in the summertime to entertain with.  Recently, when we returned to our home here, one of our tenants had tinted the windows on the side of the house.  I can&#8217;t tell you what a difference that made in the temperature in our home.  Sure saves on the A/C bills.  Guess tinting is not just for cars!  Not to mention both of these amenities increase home values.</p>
<p>So if you&#8217;re in the market for a home and want to change your scenery, remember, there is no better place to find the right home at the right price than Phoenix, Arizona!</p>
