I thought it might be interesting to disclose the statistics on the community video tours that I produce and distribute on YouTube.
I think most people have the preconceived notion that YouTube is a ‘young’ phenomenon and probably think the majority of people watching videos on YouTube are younger than 35. Well, my statistics for the videos I produce paint a totally different picture. In fact, 77% of people watching my videos are over the age of 35 with the highest segment coming from the ages 45-54. More interesting to me, is the fact that there are more 55-64 year old’s watching my videos than 25-34 year old’s.
I am actually pleased with these statistics because this is my target audience. I’d rather have a 45 year old watching a video on the community of Val Vista Lakes as opposed to a 21 year old college student.
